关于我的

我在内布拉斯加州农村的一个小镇上长大. 作为一名高中辩手，我对政治和治理方面的话题非常感兴趣. 但我的想法非常本土化(我仍然认为这一点非常重要). 我把这归功于我在黑斯廷斯学院的经历, 像萨斯奎哈纳这样的小型文理学院, 拓展我的视野.

当我开始我的大学生涯时，我并没有打算出国留学. 我的几位教授和指导老师都鼓励我考虑到美国以外的地方生活, 这个想法真的把我吓坏了，因为我不确定自己能否在一个陌生的地方做到这一点, 遥远的地方. 在黑斯廷斯学院的大力支持和鼓励下, 我在恩斯赫德的特温特大学度过了一个学期, 荷兰. 这段经历解放了我的学术兴趣和自我形象. 我对欧洲的政治制度产生了浓厚的兴趣, 最终通过将美国作为与欧洲比较的基础，对美国政治有了更多的了解.
