Teaching! I can’t think of anything I would rather be doing! And-I can’t think of anywhere else that I would rather be doing it at than Susquehanna University! With over 30 years of experience teaching public speaking, communication media/theory, interpersonal communication and many other communication courses at the college level, 21 of those years being spent right here at SU. I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses for Duquesne University and numerous courses throughout the years for Bloomsburg University as well, which is my alma mater for both my graduate and undergraduate work.

Extending my love for communications beyond the classroom, I am the creator and presenter of communication workshops such as, Effective Communication in the Workplace and How to Enhance Your Listening Skills, which I have presented on numerous occasions at Susquehanna University, Bucknell University, Schuylkill County Institute of Business, Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit in Montandon, Pa., and the Women’s Leadership Symposium held at Bucknell University.

I very much enjoy working one-on-one with students and have an opportunity to do that through serving as an advisor for both SU communication students, to the sisters of Sigma Kappa Delta sorority.

So from starring in productions and being a former member of the board of the Anthracite Community Theater, to coaching winning contestants in the PA Bank Association state speech competition, much of my life has been spent educating, entertaining and hopefully touching peoples’ lives in a positive way.

American journalist Charles Kuralt said, “Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students,” and I can honestly say that my students have done just that for me.
